Great motorcycling in the Winterberg area. Numerous curves, smooth tarmac and great views!
During this trip you will stay in a nice hotel, which is 20 km from Winterberg. Hospitality is the top priority in this cosy family hotel. Everything is done to make your stay enjoyable. That starts with the delicious cuisine. Downstairs, you can relax on the terrace or in the cosy bar. You can use the minigolf, tennis court and wellness facilities, and take a dip in the indoor pool.
The outward journey (first day) and return journey (last day) you will drive on your own initiative.
Day route 1: North-West lakes | 273 / 343 kilometers
As soon as you leave the village, the road curves up into the hills on nice smooth asphalt. It remains so for the first 40 km. You then ride through villages with many beautiful half-timbered houses. You ride towards Biggesee, which, with its surface area of 9 km², is the largest reservoir in the Sauerland, where you can take a boat trip or enjoy the beautiful view at Biggeblick. You continue the route along the next lake, the Sorpesee. Here you have the opportunity to have lunch at the water. Then you drive towards Möhnesee where you can visit the Tropfsteinhohle wildlife park or the stalactite caves. You will continue on K roads with beautiful views and curves. The last part of the route takes you through the famous ski area around Winterberg, which is very popular. When you visit Sauerland you must have been in Winterberg. Winterberg is both in winter and summer very popular with tourists and perhaps you will meet a 'Sauerländer' who speaks the dialect.
Day route 2: East Sauerland | 220 / 324 kilometer
At the starting point of the route, you drive along a beautiful road that winds through the hills with magnificent views. You wind your way along and the roads change, so do the views and nature around you. One thing remains: the bends in this area come in all shapes and sizes. The route continues towards the Affolder See, here you see two houses upside down, and people live in them, nice to stop for a photo opportunity. Just a few kilometres further, you will see Schloss Waldeck on top of the mountain on the other side of the lake. The castle can be visited free of charge and can be reached from the town via a road. There are two restaurants in the castle. You drive back to the hotel on beautiful roads that run through the hills.
Dayroute 3: South-West Sauerland | 269 kilometer
From the hotel, you drive along a wide and somewhat busier road towards Marburg. Marburg is a lively student city and nice to take a look in the city centre. The narrow Eder River meanders with us. While riding this route, you pass through many villages with beautiful white half-timbered houses. You drive on wider B roads that are also a bit busier, but certainly not less beautiful. At the end of the route, we drive through the famous town of Winterberg. If you haven't visited Winterberg yet, you still have the chance to do.
This day route is only for the 5-day trip.
