The day routes are offered in the same order, only you can choose the starting and ending point of your trip.
- Limburg (Arcen)
- Zuid Holland (Kinderdijk / Ablasserdam)
- Friesland (Sneek)
- Gelderland (Winterswijk)
The outward journey (first day) and return journey (last day) you will drive on your own initiative.
Day route 1: Arcen – Kinderdijk | 320 / 387 km
Today's route goes straight through Brabant with Kinderdijk as final destination. You start the route parallel to the river Maas over narrow roads to enter the Biesbosch area. This nature reserve is unique, has a special nature with various recreational possibilities. You will notice that it is a lot quieter than what you are used to in the Netherlands. When leaving the Biesbosch area you cross over from Brabant to South Holland and Zeeland. You are now driving towards the highlight of this route: Neeltje Jans and its delta works. You can visit this typical Dutch museum and get informed about the technique used by the Netherlands to protect its lowlands. Of course you can also make a stop at one of the many beaches Zeeland has to offer. You continue the route in the direction of Alblasserdam with Kinderdijk as your destination. From the hotel you have a beautiful view of the 19 windmills. Nice to make a beautiful evening walk along the polder, to see these 19 mills up close. You can also visit the museum or make a lovely boat trip.
Day route 2: Kinderdijk – Sneek | 282 / 348 km
Today's route takes you from Kinderdijk over beautiful dike roads through North Holland to Sneek. You ride along the Markermeer, hardly any water in the Netherlands offers so many possibilities for water sports and recreation, it's nice to plan a stop to enjoy the water and the views. You continue the route towards the head of North Holland to take the Afsluitdijk to Friesland. You drive on through roads in the direction of Sneek. You stay in Sneek in a nice boutique hotel right in the centre. Sneek (Snits) is a pleasant place with a rich history and is definitely recommended to walk through and to see the sights.
Day route 3: Sneek – Winterswijk | 237 / 321 km
You leave the cosy city of Sneek to drive through the watery areas of Friesland to the hotel in Winterswijk. You drive around the cities Zwolle, Almelo and Enschede and it is nice to visit one of these cities. If you take the long version of the route, you drive parallel along the German border. You continue the route along the smallest roads in Gelderland to arrive at the cosy hotel in Winterswijk. If you arrive at the hotel in time, it is great to have a drink on the terrace in the cosy garden.
Day route 4: Winterswijk – Arcen | 219 / 249 km
After breakfast, it is time to head towards Limburg. While riding this route, you will takea piece of dike around Cuijk and Grave. The highlights of this route are to be found in the Veluwe area. The Veluwe is very diverse, which is why there are many different special attractions: of course the beautiful nature, Radio Kootwijk and the Kröller-Müller Museum. You continue the route through the Peel and Maas area towards Arcen in Limburg, where you will spend the night.
Attention: On Sundays the Postbank area is not accessible for motorcyclists!
Day route 5: South Limburg | 279 / 304 km
This route is a round trip through Limburg and the southernmost points of the Netherlands. You pass the cities Roermond, Sittard and Maastricht. It is definitely recommended to make a stop in the centre of Roermond and/or Maastricht. Should you prefer to avoid these somewhat busier cities, you can deviate from the route to visit the village of Thorn. Thorn is also called the 'white town' and the name says it all, all the houses in the centre of this town are white, and the town has an interesting history that goes back to the Middle Ages. Another highlight of this trip is the three-country point on the Vaal mountain.
