Offroad motorcycling in the Pyrenees offers thrilling adventures through rugged terrain, scenic trails, and challenging mountain passes, providing an unforgettable riding experience for enthusiasts seeking both natural beauty and adrenaline.
We have set out several routes suitable for all Allroad motorcycles above 600cc. For lighter motorcycles up to 200kg and more experienced riders, we have selected more challenging routes, while for beginner allroad riders and heavier motorcycles (+200kg), we have chosen well-maintained onroad routes. You will drive to the first hotel located just below Andorra, where you can safely park your bus or trailer, while your motorcycle can stay in the parking garage at your convenience.
The outward journey (first day) and return journey (last day) you will drive on your own initiative.
Arrival day
Upon arrival, the hotel staff stays at your disposal to provide you with the best possible holiday feeling. After parking your motorbike in the garage, you can enjoy a well-deserved drink on the hotel's beautiful terrace. The hotel, located at over 1000 meters altitude, is equipped with all amenities such as a swimming pool, wellness (for a small fee), a spacious garage, and a covered parking space for cars, trailers, and buses. On the terrace, you will quickly experience the holiday feeling. You can even take a dip in the large swimming pool before sitting down for a delicious dinner.
Day route 1: Round trip East Pyrenees | 169 / 306 km
After a delicious breakfast buffet, you change into your riding gear and start your motorcycle to begin the first route. Today, you will ride on both paved and unpaved passes to the east and south of Andorra. The first unpaved pass starts just 10 minutes into the ride, and after half an hour, you'll already be riding at over 2000 meters through the peaks of the Pyrenees. Today, you will also briefly ride through France and need to remove and replace ropes or ribbons stretched across the road to keep the cows and horses where they belong. One of the beautiful mountain passes you'll ride today is Coll de la Creueta. This pass is over 20 km long and takes you to almost 2000 meters, offering breathtaking views over the Pyrenees peaks. After a few kilometers, you'll come across the Riutort oil mine, which you can visit. Then, you'll arrive at Baga, a charming village where you can have a nice lunch. You'll also ride Coll de Pal today, which is 2080 meters high and 19 km long. It's a fantastic day to start this journey.
Day route 2: Connecting route - Hotel Can Boix | 195 / 246 km
Today, you'll ride with only the essentials of your luggage, to the second hotel of this trip where you'll stay for two nights (after which you'll return to the first hotel, so most of your luggage can be left there). Today's route takes you through a large part of Parc Natural del Cadi-Moixero, a beautiful unspoiled nature reserve where there are more off-road paths than there are paved roads. Today, you can choose between a shorter, less challenging route or a longer, slightly more challenging route. After an hour's ride, you'll find yourself on top of Coll de la Traba, 1460 meters high, and shortly after on Coll de Josa with a height of 1620 meters. Then, you'll ride a beautiful off-road pass called Coll de Gosol, which is 1595 meters high, and from the top, you can still see the long gravel paths you've just ridden on. The last part of this stunning route takes you to Coll de Nargo, which, contrary to expectations, is not a mountain pass but a mountain village at 753 meters. After that, you'll reach the second hotel. This hotel is also equipped with all amenities and has a beautiful and secluded location. There is a parking garage for motorcycles, a lovely outdoor swimming pool, a very cozy terrace, and again excellent breakfast and dinner.
Day route 3: Round trip Southwest Pyrenees / Coll de Faidella | 191 / 203 km
After a great breakfast, you start today's tour through Serra d'Aubenç i Roc de Cogul, an unknown nature reserve southwest of Coll de Nargo. Today, you can also choose between two different routes, with the longer and more challenging one diving deeper into the nature reserve with heavy paths full of loose stones and some steep slopes. After a hour's drive, you start climbing Coll de Faidella, a beautiful mountain pass with an altitude of 1250 meters. After many paved and unpaved roads of varying quality, you reach an unpaved section that runs right next to a high mountain massif. It is very impressive and challenging to drive. After a wonderful day of riding, you return to the hotel where the pool awaits you to cool off.
Day route 4: Connecting route - Prullans | 211 / 218 / 245 km
Today, you pack up your gear again and head back to the first hotel with a choice between two different routes. The easy route will drive several paved and unpaved roads from the second day in the opposite direction, but some you may not even recognize due to the impressive day you had yesterday. The harder route may seem simple and easy to ride until the forest path you are driving becomes narrower and turns into some steep slopes with deep ruts and loose stones, as mentioned, only suitable for experienced riders who do not shy away from a challenge. At the end of this route, you have the choice to drive through a toll tunnel back to the first hotel or to drive around it off-road, the choice is yours. Your hotel is located in the middle of the mountains in Prullans.
Day route 5: Round trip - North-West Pyrenees / Andorra | 214 / 227 / 276 km
Today is already the last route of this trip, but we've saved the best for last. Today, you'll drive through some beautiful mountain passes in Andorra to the highlight of this trip, Pic de Negre (also known as the roof of Andorra) with an impressive height of 2642 meters. From here, you'll have a view of all the mountains in the surrounding area, indescribably beautiful and completely off-road. After this stunning highlight, you'll arrive in bustling Andorra, with what seems like the most car and motorcycle dealerships in one street in the world. It's the first busy stretch of this trip that you'll encounter. Then, you'll drive up a paved mountain pass towards the Spanish border, which stops at the border. From there, you'll drive down a beautiful off-road section through the stunning Park Natural Alt Pirineu. Once you reach the bottom, you'll have the choice of a paved route back to the hotel or endless long sand and gravel paths through this impressive park, the choice is yours once again.
Time to go home
Everything comes to an end, including this very impressive Dirty Roads trip through Northern Spain and Andorra. After a delicious breakfast, you hop back on the motorbike to head back home.
It's not possible to navigate off-road with a TomTom Rider series, so use a Garmin Zumo XT or a similar device for that purpose.
