Day route 1 | Sciliar-Catinaccio | 209 km
Today's first day route takes you to the Sciliar-Catinaccio, the oldest nature park in South Tyrol and named after the enormous Sciliar massif. This nature park is situated between 1300-3000 metres altitude. In combination with the rich flora and fauna, you will be treated to beautiful views and stops here. After about 30 kilometres of driving, the first pass awaits you: Passo Fedaia (2,057 metres) on your left you have a beautiful view over the reservoir 'Lago di Fedaia'. You continue the route via curvy roads with beautiful views to the next pass: the Passo Costalunga (1,745 metres). If you stop here, there is a good chance that you will hear a language which you cannot quite place, because after German and Italian, a third language is spoken here: Ladin. You continue the route parallel to the border of the Parco Naturale dello Sciliar and it guarantees nice steering with beautiful views. The second part of the route is characterised by narrower curvy roads through a forest. Via the Marmolada (highest mountain in the Dolomites) you return to the hotel.
Day route 2 | Passo Pura | 204 / 300 km
The first part of the route is similar to yesterday's. After about 11 kilometres, a hairpin will turn up the Passo Falzarego (2,105m). At the top of this pass, you can take the cable car up pretty steeply to the Lagozuoi. From here, you have stunning views over the surrounding area. The descent to Cortina d'Ampezzo from Passo Falzarego is smooth with a few more fun hairpin turns. Cortina d'Ampezzo is a picturesque mountain village which is also called the 'Pearl of the Dolomites', because of its beautiful nature and the town centre is dotted with excellent restaurants and chic boutiques. Cortina is also known as a bit of the counterpart of Austrian Lech. You continue the route and drive into a quiet and desolate area. Via the Passo Tre Croci (1,809 metres) you drive to Auronzo and the Sella Ciampignotto, a beautiful pass with almost no traffic where you can fully enjoy the beautiful views. After this, you drive past the turquoise-coloured Lago di Sauris, which you can see beautifully on your right. Near Lago di Sauris you drive up the beautiful and ancient Passo Pura, which again treats you to beautiful roads, many curves and great views. After the Passo Pura section, you'll drive over the bridge over the reservoir to Passo Rest (10.52m). Not a very high pass, but one big hairpin curve party. The route then goes via fast roads, with still very nice curves, back to the hotel.
Day route 3 | Valle del Mis / Monte Grappa / San Boldo | 233 / 339 / 385 km
For today you have the choice of a short, long and XL route. The short route brings you to the Valle des Mis. The long and XL route will go over Monte Grappa, whereby the XL route also goes over the unique Passo San Boldo. From the hotel you will drive through the village and arrive directly at the Passo Pordoi (2,239m). The Pordoi pass has many hairpin bends up and down. They even are numbered. After the village of Canazei you drive through the valley to the foot of the Passo Pellegrino (1.918m) This pass is part of the famous ski area and also the source of the famous mineral water, this water takes an estimated 30-year journey before it ends up in the bottle and in your glass. Passo Pellegrino goes via Passo Valles (2.032m) to Passo Rolle (1.989m) After Passo Rolle, the short route splits from the long and XL route. The long route and the XL route continue towards Monte Grappa. This area can remind you a bit of Tuscany, and on top of the Passe Grappa you can even see Venice on a clear day. You continue the route and via the Valle del Mis and Lago del Mis you drive back to the hotel.
Day route 4 | Passo del Manghen | 262 / 313 / 353 km
Day 4 you also have the choice of 3 different routes. You start today's route with one of the highest passes of the region: Passo di Pordoi (2.239m) You have to drive 33 tornanti (hairpin turns) to get to the top of this beautiful pass and another 27 back down. The view at the top of the pass is magnificent! After this you continue over Passo di Costalunga (1.745m) and Passo di Lavazè (1.808m) towards the Passo Del Manghen (2.047m). On the Passo Del Manghen there are enough possibilities for a good lunch, you can also hike and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. You continue the route towards Primolano. Then the 3 different routes come together again to continue via Passo Brocon (1,616m) and Passo Cereda towards the hotel.
Day route 5 | Mega Mountain Passes Tour | 232 / 298 km
Today it is time to conquer the many passes of the region in one day! The route starts towards Corvara, up the Passo Campolongo (1,875m). In Corvara you keep to the right in order to go via Passo Valparola to Passo Falzarego. After the last hairpin before the pass height you have a beautiful view over the valley. From the pass height of the Passo Falzarego you continue towards the Passo di Giau (2.236km) from where you have again a beautiful view of the Dolomites. You continue the route and conquer some more beautiful passes: Passo Staulanza (1.773m), Passo Duran (1.601m) and the Passo Rollo. This road leads you through the nature park Parco Naturale Paneveggio & Pale di San Martino, here you will be treated again by beautiful views and wonderful nature. Now the most famous pass of the Dolomites is waiting for you... The Passo Sella (2,218m). It is a beautiful pass to drive and to see with as highlight the Sasso Lungo or the three-headed mountain just before the pass height. After the Passo Sella you descend to the Passo Val Gardena (2,121m) and onto the Passo Campolongo which you now ride in the opposite direction back to Arabba.
Extra day route 6 | HORIZON SPECIAL | 52 km
If you still have not had enough of the Dolomites, you can enjoy the Passo Pordoi, Passo Sella, Passo Val Gardena and the Passo Campolongo in this 52 km loop.
It is recommended to ride this loop first thing in the morning or later in the afternoon. The Sella and Gardena passes are famous and very popular with tourists. Immediately in the morning or later in the afternoon it is quieter on the passes and it is much more fun to drive the bike.
