A beautiful trip!
How wonderful it is to leave things behind and ride your motorbike for a few days through a fantastically beautiful forest landscape! With this 4 or 5-day trip, you'll get to know a fantastic region: Palatine Region. A wonderfully varied trip that we can only recommend! Palatine Region is known for its curves and hills, there is something for everyone and especially a nice area for a motorbike holiday.
The outward journey (first day) and return journey (last day) you will drive on your own initiative.
Day route 1: Pfalzerland North | 234 / 343 km
The hotel is located in the northern part of the Palatine Region. Today's route takes you through this northern part. You have the choice of a short or long route. If you want to visit one or more places of interest or simply enjoy the surroundings, we advise you to take the short route. If you want to drive the whole day, we recommend the long route! After a few kilometres, the landscape opens up with a clear view of the fields alternating with forests and small church villages. You come across an old ammunition bunker from the bygone war times. Later, near Altenbomberg, you will come across another large ruin. After this, the short and long routes split up. The long route makes an extra loop with very nice bends. When the routes rejoin, there is a nice section of track on the road from Oberhausen to Halgarten. At km182 you pass the Klosterruïne Disibodenberg. You should definitely visit this place, because the ruins date back to the year 1,200 and have a rich history. Afterwards, you drive back to the hotel through hilly landscapes. The views just keep on coming on this beautiful route.
Day route 2: Rhineland-Pfalz South | 245 / 318 km
Today's route goes to the south of the Palatine Region. Today's long route goes partly through France, the short one stays in Germany. It can be busy on the first part of the route. The US Army has a base here and it is noticeable along the way. Today, you will again encounter several castles. The one that is still the most intact: is Castle Grafenstein. After this, you continue on a beautiful panoramic road that changes into a wooded area. Enjoy the roads with great quality and a lot of curves. Halfway through, you pass the lovely town of Hauenstein, where you can have a good lunch. Then you come to the main road B48, which leads to Johaniskreuz and is popular by motorcyclists. You notice why immediately, you are 28 km long curving. Afterward, you ride back to the hotel via beautiful winding roads. 7 km before the hotel, you encounter a piece with a gradient of 25%.
Day route 3: South-West Pfalzerland | 273 / 361 km
Today, you will explore another part of the Palatine Region. Today's route will take you almost to Saarbrücken and also a bit through another part of the French Northern Vosges / Alsace. The short and long routes split up several times today. If you choose the long route, leave in time in the morning to be able to ride the route at your leisure without being late back at the hotel. In the morning you will ride on beautiful rolling roads. In the morning, you will pass the largest wine barrel in the world with a diameter of 13.5 metres. Unfortunately, this is not used to mature liquor, but it is a restaurant. After this, you come across a number of monasteries that can be visited. Later on, you turn onto the B48, where you can enjoy top quality tarmac and wonderful curves on a spacious road. You then descend to the south towards France. You only drive 25 km in France, but it is a very nice road! Then you drive towards the hotel. On this route, just like in day route 2, you will pass the Falkenstein burg in the last part of the route. Always nice to have a look here and if it is not busy, you can park your motorbike in the open air theatre at the car park.
This day route is only for the 5-day trip.
