Beautiful routes but mediocre hotels

Took a nice trip through Normandy with my son. The fact that the invasion took place here 80 years ago was commemorated everywhere. This added an extra dimension to our trip. Almost every village we passed was full with flags and pictures of 80 years ago. So a memorable trip. The routes horizon laid out were beautiful to drive. We did find out that our Garmin zumo xt2 sometimes has some trouble with the GPX files sent. This regularly made the route illogical and we regularly had to navigate ourselves to the next waypoint using the indicated map on the zumo. Then the accommodations were poor except for one hotel. Small, noisy rooms, poor breakfasts and lots of gravel parking lots. So here is clearly the profit model in our view of horizon travel. Perhaps next time we will organize our own trip.
